The Bear Grylls Adventure Activities
The Bear Grylls Adventure is packed full of activities for you to choose from. Whether it’s feeling the sensation of free-fall flight at iFLY or channelling your inner Robin Hood at archery, there really is something for everyone. Here are all the activities you can expect.
Have you ever wondered what it feels like to fly? iFLY is an indoor skydiving experience that gives you the incredible sensation of an actual free-fall. In two one-minute flights, you feel the same adrenaline rush as skydiving, without having to even step foot inside a plane. Test your free-fall skills and manoeuvres with a highly trained instructor by your side.
Scuba diving with sharks in Birmingham? It sounds crazy, but The Bear Grylls Adventure has brought Mexico to the Midlands with its shark diving experience. In a thrilling two-hour adventure, a pro diving team will take you down below with over 1,000 aquatic creatures, including the likes of nurse sharks, blacktip reef sharks, rays, and other tropical fish. All equipment will be provided – just don’t forget your swimming gear and a towel!
If you’re looking to tackle your fear of heights head on, there’s no better place than at Europe’s tallest high ropes course. Standing 65 feet tall, the high ropes experience is both incredibly fun and terrifying in equal measure. There are 36 obstacles to choose from, so whether you’d prefer to take on the basic rope bridges or the more advanced rolling log, there’s a challenge for everyone.
Scuba diving isn’t for everyone, which is why there’s also the option of snorkelling with the aquatic wildlife. At 60-minutes, it’s shorter than the diving experience, but it’s perfect for those who are apprehensive about diving in at the deep end. From the snorkel cage, you’ll still get up close and personal with the likes of blacktip reef sharks and cow nose rays, exploring all that this underwater experience has to offer.
Archery has never been more fun than at The Bear Grylls Adventure. After a full briefing and practice session, this 45-minute experience will challenge your aim in a series of games. You can compete against yo
ur friends and family or give yourself some targets to aim for, making It it ideal for archers of all experiences.
If you’ve finished your archery experience but still looking to hit the target, head across to the shooting range. You’ll be taught how to use one of the range’s air pistols before having a shot yourself in a 30-minute session. A series of targets will appear, all of different difficulties. All you need to do is aim, pull the trigger, and hope you hit bullseye. Participants must be above the age of ten, and any 11–15-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult, but all equipment is provided to make the shooting range as safe as it is fun.
You’re locked in an abandoned mineshaft. The only way out is to complete a series of physical, mental, and skill-based tasks. You only have a set amount of time, and the clock is ticking. No, this isn’t a Hollywood horror film, but The Bear Grylls Adventure escape room. Team up to solve the puzzles which will eventually break you out (hopefully before the clock runs out).
If you’re anything like us, watching documentaries like Free Solo has given us the climbing bug. The Bear Grylls Adventure climbing wall takes inspiration from some of the greatest climbing walls and routes in the world, including El Capitan – subject of the aforementioned film. You’ll feel the real deal as you’re briefed in the special Everest hut before taking on the climb. With over 20 routes to choose from, there are climbs to suit all levels of experience. After all that fun and exercise, you’re bound to work up an appetite. Take a break at The Bear Grylls Adventure café, which serves a wide range of food and drink, from pizza to salad, fizzy drinks to coffee. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan choices are also on the menu to cater for all dietary requirements.
