Ever wondered how they make the creme inside a Cadbury’s Creme Egg resemble an egg? Or how Cadbury’s Roses are filled and perfectly wrapped? Well, at Cadbury World you can finally find out how! Head to the manufacturing section where you can watch interactive videos that explain how all the popular Cadbury brands are made!
You’ll hear the inspiring story of John Cadbury and his early struggles to establish his world-famous brand. Plus, you’ll get to uncover the heritage and history of Bournville Village.
Next you can take a trip to the Aztec Jungle where you will discover the origins of the cocoa bean. You’ll travel back in time to Mexico to learn about the Mayan Indians who resided in the tropical rainforests. Find out why the cocoa tree was central to their culture and meet the Aztec Emperor Montezuma whose favourite drink was ‘chocolatl’. Be careful though, the Emperor is very protective of his cocoa!
Don’t leave without taking a walk through Advertising Avenue, where you’ll enjoy a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Learn how Cadbury products have been advertised over the years and come face to face with everyone’s favourite drumming gorilla!
Taste Lots of Chocolate
You know a day is going to be a great one when it begins with eating chocolate. Start your day right by collecting your free chocolate bars from the ticket booth and munching on them as you take the self-guided tour on the history and production of chocolate.
When you enter the Chocolate Making zone to learn more about the origins of the cocoa bean and to find out how chocolate is made, you’ll receive another tempting treat. Enjoy a delicious cup of melted Cadbury’s chocolate, which you can garnish with two toppings of your choice - think marshmallows, sprinkles, and of course, everyone’s favourite chocolate buttons.
Make Your Own Chocolate
For something extra special, why not book into the Chocolatier Experience? A two-hour class that provides an exclusive taster into the world of chocolate making. You’ll get a hands-on lesson in the art of chocolate making, from the history and science behind it, to tasting dark, milk and white chocolate. Book this as an extra treat (for £49 per person) and learn about the processes used to create each variety.
What Else is at Cadbury World?
One of the highlights of the day will be visiting the 4D Chocolate Adventure zone, where you can ride the Crunchie rollercoaster and dive into liquid Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate, all without leaving your cinema motion seat. Join Freddo and a whole cast of Cadbury characters on an adventurous journey in a 4D cinema experience. For more interactive fun, head to the Purple Planet – the interactive zone, where you will experience a world of digital chocolate delights!
Located right next to the 4D experience, you’ll find the African Adventure Play Area, filled with tube slides, climbing zones and rope bridges. If you’re visiting with little ones, there’s even a separate under 5s zone for mini-explorers to enjoy.
You’ll also want to visit the World’s Biggest Cadbury Shop and the onsite Cadbury Café serving all your favourite treats, including yummy Cadbury’s Freddo hot chocolate.
Tickets: Tickets must be pre-booked to guarantee entry to Cadbury World, so avoid disappointed youngsters and book online before you go. Getting there: Cadbury World is located in Bournville, Birmingham and trains to Cadbury World are easy to book. It’s a 15-minute walk from Bournville Train Station, which is a 14-minute train journey from Birmingham New Street (trains every 10 minutes).
