This summer will see the Commonwealth Games 2022 come to Birmingham and the West Midlands. It runs from 28 July to 8 August and is set to be the biggest sporting and cultural event to be held in the West Midlands, with thousands taking part and millions anticipated to watch.

CrossCountry is working with industry partners and Games organisers to make sure we can offer the best service we can during this busier than usual time. We call at several stations which serve venues for different events including:

The Games will demonstrate the very best of Britain to the world, showcasing the region’s strengths in being well connected and accessible, the youth and inclusivity of locals, and a focus on regeneration and rejuvenation.

Plan ahead – book in advance

Services into Birmingham New Street and local stations are likely to be busier than usual and a queuing system will be in place at Birmingham New Street, so plan ahead and check before you travel. Book your train tickets in advance so you can reserve seats and travel to the games comfortably.
