Once you have arrived in Newcastle a variety of onward travel options are open to you to complete your journey. You may wish to choose the regular Metro services which connect the city centre with the airport and suburbs. Alternatively, an excellent bus network connects the whole of the city with the surrounding areas, making it a cheap and easy choice. However, should you prefer to reach your destination directly, you might choose to travel by cab; a taxi rank is conveniently located adjacent to the station.
Newcastle is haven for shopaholics, with a choice of favourite brands and designers as well as a whole host of independent shops and boutiques you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else! There is a plethora of shopping malls to choose from, where you will be able to find high street favourites side by side with unique independent stores, intu Eldon Square and intu Metrocentre are the largest and best of these. The former is conveniently located in the city centre, while the latter is located just outside of the city and is the largest shopping centre in Europe.
Perhaps best known for its Roman history and unparalleled nightlife, the culture in Newcastle is one of extremes. Immerse yourself in the fascinating history of Newcastle in the Great North Museum: Hancock, which explores both Natural history and Hadrian’s Wall, or in the Discovery Museum, where you can learn about local history and science. However, if the nightlife is more to your tastes, we recommend starting your night at one of the amazing contemporary fine dining establishments which have sprung up in abundance in Quayside. Then, continue your night in one of the classy cocktail bars, or choose a traditional northern pub experience.
