Yes, there are regular direct CrossCountry services from Edinburgh to Glasgow. CrossCountry currently runs several trains an hour, with the first and last departures being 05:53 and 23:45.

Glasgow Central has many step-free options for those needing assistance. You can exit and access the station through step-free routes from the Gordon Street, Hope Street and low-level Hope Street exits. The Union Street exit is not step-free. Ramps are also available, and staff can assist customers who need help getting on or off their train.
As its name suggests, Glasgow Central is in the heart of the city centre. With countless eateries, shops and accommodation available as soon as you leave, you’ve landed right in the middle of the action.

There are plenty of ways to travel around Glasgow. The underground subway makes it extremely convenient and affordable to travel around the West End and city centre, with trains leaving frequently. If you prefer to travel above ground, there are buses that operate around the city and to the outskirts. You can also hop on and off a City Sightseeing Bus to see all the attractions.
If you prefer the luxury of direct travel, there is a taxi rank outside Glasgow Central. Be prepared for an entertaining journey – Glasgow’s taxi drivers are known to be some of the friendliest drivers in the world.
If you’re a serious shopper, Glasgow will not disappoint. With three shopping centres in the city, you can explore independent boutiques, high street brands and vintage stores.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, Glasgow’s Style mile is a great place to start. With over 200 shops to browse and most of them open until 7pm, you may find you get carried away here! If you’re looking for individual and handmade pieces, head to Dowanside Lane and Ruthven Lane in the West End. Navigate through the cobbled streets and quench your thirst with a drink at a quirky café or bar.
