Network Rail will be carrying out track improvement work in the Newcastle area. The work will start on Saturday 01 and run through to Sunday 09 October.

Saturday 1 - Sunday 2 and Saturday 8 - Sunday 9 October

CrossCountry services will start and terminate at York. Rail services will operate between York and Newcastle. LNER will operate rail services on a diversionary route between Newcastle and Edinburgh Waverley. Rail replacement road transport will operate between Newcastle and stations to Edinburgh Waverley.

Monday 3 and Friday 7 October

CrossCountry services will start and terminate at York. Rail services will operate between York and Newcastle. Rail replacement road transport will operate between Newcastle and Morpeth. Rail services will operate between Morpeth and Scotland. LNER will operate rail services on a diversionary route between Newcastle and Edinburgh Waverley.

Tuesday 4, Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 October

Trains will operate as normal with some slight retimings.

Road Transport

Road transport will depart from the following stations:

Newcastle – Station front

Morpeth – Station front

Alnmouth – Bus stops on Curly Lane

Berwick-upon-Tweed – Station front

Dunbar – Station front

Edinburgh Waverley - Waterloo Place, pick up across from Apex Hotel and drop off outside the Apex Hotel.
