How to get to the Peak District by train
The Peak District covers a huge area of the UK countryside, and as such there are many ways you can access it by train:
• The Hope Valley Line moves between Manchester and Sheffield, and services stations like Edale, Bamford, Grindleford, and Hathersage. CrossCountry provides routes in and out of Manchester and Sheffield from all over the UK.
• The Derwent Valley Line runs to the south between Derby and Matlock, with regular bus journeys taking you through idealistic villages like Bakewell. CrossCountry services trains in and out of Derby.
• The Manchester to Glossop Line is to the left of the Peak District, by which you can access Bleaklow and Kinder Scout. The Manchester to Buxton Line can also be found to the west, giving you access to the White Peak and Staffordshire Moorlands.
• The Manchester to Huddersfield line stops at Greenfield and Marsden, giving you access to Dove Stones and the Wessenden Moors.
