1. Jephson Gardens

If you’re lucky enough to have some good weather, Jephson Gardens is a great place to spend some time outdoors – run around, burn off some energy and then warm up in a nearby café with a warm drink. Of course, if the weather turns, the Glasshouse also has fascinating plants from around the world safely out of the rain.

How to get there: Jephson Gardens is easily walkable from Leamington Spa station.

2. Royal Pump Rooms

The Royal Pump Rooms were once the place to be seen in Leamington, and they continue to be a great attraction. As well as some beautiful gardens, you’ll also find a theatre here where you can catch the Panto during the winter plus other amazing shows. There’s also a great café which serves one of the best afternoon teas in town.

How to get there: The Royal Pump Rooms are a short walk from the station.

3. Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum

Part of the Royal Pump Rooms, the Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum deserves its own entry on this list. It hosts lots of events and exhibitions for all ages throughout the year, particularly during the school holidays. Discover a unique collection of decorative art or learn more about the history of Leamington Spa.

How to get there: Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum are within easy walking distance of the station.

4. Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre

If the weather takes a turn for the worse, head to the Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre. With a wide range of pools available, including the Leisure Pool with a high-octane flume, there’s something for everyone. Kids can also make the most of Clip ‘n’ Climb, a climbing wall built especially for little arms and legs. Refuel afterwards in the Café if you’re not quite ready to head back out into the rain.

How to get there: The Leisure Centre is a 20-minute walk from the station, but you can catch a quick taxi if you prefer.

Price: Swimming: Adults - £5, Children Over 5 - £3.50, Children under 5 swim free. Climbing: Peak - £12, Off Peak - £10.

5. Regent Court

Shoppers of all ages will enjoy the Regent Court Shopping Centre. It’s not simply the best place to browse your favourite high street fashion, retail and beauty stores; you’ll also find the best chain restaurants and independent eateries in Leamington Spa. Whatever you’re in the mood for, Regent Court caters for even the fussiest taste buds.

How to get there: You can easily walk to Regent Court from the station.

6. Vue Cinema

A local staple, The Apollo Cinema was recently taken over by Vue Cinemas. With 6 screens showing the latest blockbusters and mainstream movies, this is the perfect place to spend a winter’s afternoon with the family. During the winter, the Christmas rush is quickly followed by the Oscars, so there’s almost always something great on.

How to get there: The cinema is a 10-minute walk from the station.

7. Escape Rooms

Although these started as a bit of a fad a couple of years ago, it seems they’re here to stay. And with good reason! If you’ve never tried one, this is a great way to spend an hour or so of an afternoon. Whether you visit with your friends or your kids, there’s plenty of fun to be had. Plus, it’ll keep you warm and dry indoors. Escape Leamington is central and offers three different good quality rooms.

How to get there: It’s a 15-minute walk from the station or you can get the bus part way.

Price: Adults - £20, Under 16s - £15.

8. Tenpin Leamington Spa

What better way to bond with friends or family than bowling? It really is the perfect indoor winter activity. You’ll also find pool tables and table tennis in the centre, if you get tired of bowling after a while. Plus, with a diner serving all your favourite snack foods and a fully licensed bar on site, there’s really no reason to leave!

Where is it? Shires Retail Park, Tachbrook Park Dr, Royal Leamington Spa, CV34 6RH

How to get there: The 68 or X68 busses will get you to the Shires Retail Park.

Price: Adult - £7.95 per game, Children - £6.45 per game

9. British Motor Museum

For those willing to travel a little further, the British Motor Museum is a great choice. With the world’s largest collection of historic British cars, whatever your interest in motoring, you’re sure to find something to captivate and entertain. With interactive events for the kids, as well as exhibits showing the science and people behind some of the most iconic cars, there’s something for the whole family.

Where is it? Banbury Rd, Gaydon, Warwick, CV35 0BJ

How to get there: The 77 or X77 will take you to the museum in around 30 minutes.

10. Warwick Castle

Although not technically in Leamington Spa, Warwick Castle is worth a visit. Explore the castle and grounds, including the battlements, towers, turrets and the amazing Great Hall. Discover interactive exhibits which bring the castle to life. There’s also The Castle Dungeon, a 50-minute experience focused on the grizzlier side of the Castle’s history.

How to get there: From Leamington Spa station, change to a train to Warwick – the castle is just a mile from the station.

Price: Tickets start from £17.50 when booked online in advance.

The huge and impressive Warwick castle is only a short distance from Leamington Spa making it a great thing to do in the area.
